The training aims to make Tourism Village managers reliable and able to analyze tourism potential and understand local wisdom as the main capital for developing Tourism Villages as well as integrating Tourism Village development planning, tourism product development, tourism product marketing, monitoring and evaluation of Tourism Village development, Village development advocacy Tourism, as well as establishing cooperation and partnerships.

The learning method applied by the training team during the training is the andragogy methodology or adult education process (POD). Implementation of the concept above, with the consideration that all trainees already have experience, both life experience and work experience and learning experience.

The opening ceremony for the training was held on April 3, 2023 at the Karang Intan District Hall, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province. The event was officially opened by Mr. Ahmad Syahir, S.H.I., M.H as the Head of the Training and Empowerment Center for Village Communities, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration in Banjarmasin.

The invited guests present at the opening ceremony were:

1. Head of Karang Intan sub-district, Mr. Drs. Muhammad Ilmi, M.Si;

2. Head of Economic Partnership and Rural Areas 3. District PMD Service. Banjar, Mr. Ahmad Baihaqi, S.P;

4. Head of Padang Panjang Village, Mr. Said Al Akhsani;

5. Head of Kiram Village Mr. Iwar;

6. Head of Mali-Mali Village Mr. H. Akhmad Baswan;

7. Head of West Mandiangin Village Mr. Rustam;

8. Team of trainers, executive committee, invited guests, and training participants.

The training will be held for 4 (four) days or the equivalent of 32 hours of training, starting from 03 to 06 April 2023. Day 1 is filled with material on group dynamics, pre-test, concepts and principles of tourism village development, and identification and analysis of potential tourist. Day 2 is filled with community-based tourism village development materials, local wisdom as the main capital for developing tourist villages, village systems and governance, and institutional management of tourist villages. Day 3 is filled with material on integrating tourism village development planning, developing tourism products. Day 4 is filled with material on Marketing Tourism Products, Monitoring Evaluation of Tourism Village Development, Establishing Cooperation and Partnerships, RKTL and Post tests.

This event was officially closed by the Secretary of the District Head, Mr. M. Syahid, S.Pi., MP, while in his remarks he said that the material presented from the results of this training could actually be implemented based on the potential of each Village. Village tourism cadres or activists can explore local wisdom, culture, art and culinary so that it can be used as a tourism product. It is hoped that this Tourism Village can be managed by BUM Desa so that the processing is easy and can have advantages in funding equity participation. After this training, it is hoped that the Ministry of Villages can assist in assisting the development of this Tourism Village so that it can run well and help promote tourism in the Village.
