The presence of the Banjarmasin Transmigration Training Institute at that time began with an urgent need by the gap in human resources possessed by the transmigration apparatus with transmigration residents and local residents who desperately needed changes, both in increasing knowledge, attitudes, behavior and skills.

The Banjarmasin Transmigration Training Center initially used the name Transmigration Training Center for South Kalimantan Province which is operationally under the Regional Office of the Department of Transmigration and Settlement of Forest Squatters in South Kalimantan Province and handles transmigration training in the South Kalimantan Province. Employment and Transmigration Number : 137 / MEN / 2001, Regulation of the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration RI No. PER.07 / MEN / 2011, the Banjarmasin Transmigration Training Center was turned into a Central Technical Implementation Unit (UPTP) as a vertical agency under the auspices of the Directorate General of Training and Productivity Development of the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia. with working areas throughout Kalimantan covering South Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan as well as North Kalimantan

With the existence of Law Number 22 of 1999 concerning Regional Autonomy, the Central Technical Implementation Unit (UPTP) of the Banjarmasin Transmigration Training Center will bridge various interests with the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD), especially in handling training activities in the field of transmigration.

During the Cabinet era of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, the Banjarmasin Transmigration Training Center merged with the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration. Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Villages, PDT and Transmigration Number 9 of 2015, which was originally under the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration as the Banjarmasin Transmigration Training Center, it was changed to the Banjarmasin Community Training Center. With working areas throughout the island of Kalimantan, namely the provinces of West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan.

Then in 2020, the Minister of Villages, Mr. Abdul Halim Iskandar, issued the Regulation of the Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Number 22 of 2020 concerning the Organization and Work Procedures of Technical Implementation Units within the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration, the Banjarmasin Community Training Center changed to Center for Training and Empowerment of Village Communities, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration of Banjarmasin. With working areas, namely the Provinces of South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan and North Kalimantan. The scope of work is Facilitation and Training for Development of Village Human Resources, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration and Facilitation and Assistance for Empowering Village Communities, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration.
